Gwen Zucker
Math, Master Reading Teacher, and Writing Teacher
Gwen earned her Bachelors in Architecture from the University of Notre Dame, her Masters in Radio Television and Film from the University of Texas and her Education Technology and Master Reading Specialist Certificates from Texas Education Agency Region 13.
Gwen came to teaching later in life after careers in architecture and video production. She began her career in education coordinating a student and family support program for students transitioning into the Austin ISD middle school and high school academic magnet programs. She has 14 years tutoring experience in Math, Science and English composition to students from 5th to 12th grades. She followed this with a 9-year teaching career as a career and technical education and later science teacher in Austin ISD middle and high schools. During this time she got her Master Reading Specialist certification and tutored middle and high school dyslexia and general education students in reading and writing. With teaching certifications in English, Master Reading Specialist, Computer Science, Educational Technology and Art, she brings a diverse career and educational background to the tutoring experience. Connecting learning to students' active interests and potential roles in the community.
Recognizing each child is unique Gwen maintains a focus on learning with her students their unique learning style, strengths and passions.
